If God is love, then…
God is patient,
God is kind.
He does not envy
He does not boast
He is not proud.
He is not rude,
He is not self-seeking,
He is not easily angered,
He keeps no record of wrongs.
God does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth.
He always protects,
always trusts,
always hopes,
always perseveres.
God never fails.
(taken from 1 Cor. 13)
Wow. You make God sound so perfect… and inhuman. I mean, a typical human being may be impatient, unkind, envious, arrogant, rude, self-seeking, self-absorbed, easily angered (well, that depends on the individual temperament), may keep a record of wrongs of others and may later avenge those wrongs, may be unprotective, may be cynical, may be pessimistic, and may not wish to persevere (well, that depends on the individual mood and future expectations). Those may sound like “bad” qualities, but I think those qualities can be considered “good” under certain circumstances. Think Machiavelli, and virtue becomes vice and vice becomes virtue.
